The Majestic Elm Tree

Share

When I saw this Elm first time,
I knew this place had to be mine.
It felt glorious when I looked up high,
This tree has lived much longer than I.

The leaves on tiny twigs in despair,
Falling on my garden everywhere
Like an old woman losing gray hair…
What a mess, when you care…

I cannot possibly mind its mess,
Since awards for patience aren’t any less
Than divine calm of my soul I get
Since this Elm and I have met.

Whenever I am tired or stressed,
I rest under it with half closed eyes,
Seeing past thinned canopy amazing skies,
Oh, such moments are the best!

The Elm rustles gently in the wind
Its branches bend in stormy rains,
Yet unscathed it still remains,

For my assurance, it seemed…
